Unlike typical Korean mmorpgs, NCSoft, the designers of Aion wanted questing to be a major part of leveling in Aion. Although questing itself is straight forward, here are some questing tips that you may find useful.
Unlike typical Korean mmorpgs, the designers of Aion wanted questing to be a major part of leveling in Aion. Players should not have to find grinding areas and repetitively kill the same mob over and over again, to level quick in Aion, which was not a popular method for many Western gamers. Complete All Champion Quests In Aion, there are three types of quests, Champion quests, standard quests and work orders. Champion and standard quests are the main quests for leveling your character, work order quests are more designed toward leveling up your craft, and so give little experience. Champion quests are really one big quest chain, and you must complete all quests before completing the next. However, they do give more experience and offer better rewards than standard quests, and the titles for completing all the Champion quests in one zone have some great bonuses. Watch what Others are Killing Quests givers can be found anywhere in Aion. Cities, towns, on roads, off roads. Some are in obscure locations and are difficult to find. Watch what others are killing in your area. If they are repeatably killing the same mobs, chances are that they are on a kill quest. If you cannot find the quest giver close by, ask them what quest they are on, and where to get it. Load up on Food and Potions Before doing a chain of quests, always load up on food and health, mana potions. The food gives you great bonus, so your class performs at its optimum best to complete the quests quickly. The potions are there for emergencies, as death causes you to lose experience and time. Track all Quests in the same Area If you are leveling by questing exclusively and pick up every quest you can find, which is exactly what you should be doing, then you quest window maybe a bit overwhelming. What you should be doing, is noting down which area each quests requires you to go in order to complete them. Typically, you will find one quest wants you to kill mob x in the area, another quest to kill mob y in the same area, and then maybe a gathering quest in the same area. Aion has a feature that allows you to track the quest progress in the main screen. This is achieved by ticking the box next to the quest in the quest window. If you do this before heading out to an area, you will not forget to do a particular quest. Check for Quest Items at the Broker Some quests require you to gather materials to complete the quests. If your not planning to level up the gathering skill for your character, then these quests can be time consuming. The materials are not always easy to find, and the process of gathering can result in failures, causing you to perform some retries. Instead, you can check the broker and see if someone has put them up for sale, saving you some time if you can afford it. |
