A Strong Family Is Important

If you want to succeed in Mafia Wars then you should focus on the size and strength of your family. Remember, when one member of your family is weak it can bring down the whole family and if a member of your family is in trouble you have to work together to defend them.

Jobs

You primary source of income when you first start the game will be from jobs. Doing jobs will also help you increase your level which, in turn, allows you to increase your attributes by getting skill points. There are variety of attributes in the game including attack, defense, health, energy stamina and influence.

Work on increasing your energy early in the game. Aim to get your energy level to at least 200 as fast as you can because you need energy to gain experience points from jobs. The more you have the faster you can level.

Real Estate (Properties)

Jobs will get you money in the game but at a slow trickle compared to the speed at which investing in real estate can generate it. You must have money in order to progress in the game so you will must get as much as you can. If you want money to flow in by the bucket full then you are going to have to start investing in properties. Start out with Mafia Mike's because it is one of the best investments you can make so buy as many as you can.

NOTE: Properties are becoming a dinosaur in the game and Zynga will soon remove it from New York. Why are they doing this? Zynga has found that people are not playing the game as much (at least not as regularly) as others like Farmville that require constant monitoring. Also note that upkeep is gone, you do not have to pay for it on vehicles and weapons.

Equipment

Jobs require weapons and other equipment, so does defending yourself and your home turf so make sure you have ample armor, vehicles and weapons. This will help you defend yourself and your family.
